Junior Jays Soar Past Thunderbirds, Win Second Title in Four Years

Omaha Creighton Prep and Bellevue West went head-to-head in the final 32 minutes of Class A boys basketball for the 2017-18 season. Behind senior guard Kyle Luedtke's 24 points, the Junior Jays took home the trophy via a 56-46 victory.

Cedric Johnson led the way for the 21-7 Thunderbirds with 14 points and 8 rebounds. He was accompanied by Tevin Tanner with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Chucky Hepburn and Nico Felici each added 8 as well for Bellevue West.

Junior forward Akol Arop grabbed 12 rebounds and added 6 points to help the Junior Jays earn their second state championship since 2015. Jaylin Hunter added 11 points and 6 rebounds, and Jayden Temme added 11 points.
