Eagles Narrowly Escape Monarchs on Way to State

The Omaha Central Eagles hosted the Papillion-La Vista Monarchs in the NSAA A-1 district final. Behind Jay Pal's 23 points and 16 rebounds and Roman Behrens's 27 points and eight assists, the Eagles flew by the Monarchs by way of an 84-76 score. Max Polk and Latrell Wrightsell and Max Polk added 11 points for the Eagles. Papillion-La Vista's Caleb Feekin led all scorers in the game with a season high 34 points.

Central shot 36-for-55 (57%) from the field, and they held the Monarchs to 26-for-59 (44%). Central will take on Millard South in the first round of the state tournament next week.
