The Millard West Wildcats took a trip to see Omaha Burke on
Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the first round of NSAA Class A district play. Led by 12 points from Hunter Schnuerle, Brock Burling, and Giovanni Guido, the Wildcats took home a thrilling 61-59 win and advanced to play Creighton Prep on Monday. Shereef Mitchell tacked on 29 points for the Bulldogs, but it ultimately wasn't enough.
Millard West, who now owns a 12-11 record, shot 7-for-11 from behind the three point arc to help them earn the victory. After falling behind 19-7 after the first quarter, the Wildcats used a 21-8 second and 22-12 third to take command heading into the fourth.
Millard West advances to see Creighton Prep on Monday, February 26, 2018, at 7 p.m. at the Heider Center in the district A-2 championship.
